On March 14th, the provincial government will remove all remaining COVID-19 mandatory measures. The Mandatory Order will be lifted and COVID-19 Operational Plans will no longer be required. However, it does not represent “the end of the pandemic.” We are very pleased to see our sport community return to “normal” but as transmission of the virus remains high in the province, we encourage recreation and sport organizations to continue to take a responsible and cautious approach.
Core protective health measures remain important tools to limit the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. This is particularly important for those who are most vulnerable.
We will continue to apply appropriate measures when there’s an elevated risk of transmission. In addition, we also ask members not to attend activities while sick and until symptoms have resolved. Participants may have different levels of comfort, as measures are being lifted, an atmosphere where there is mutual respect and understanding where participants are supportive of each other’s personal protective habits and risk tolerances.
